Aids plant growth and hormones and different enzymes.
Aids plant tillering (More tillers means more Yield)
Aids in stress releasing.
Necessary for carbohydrates and starch formation in the plants.
Aids in grain formation.
Helps in absorption of other nutrients.
Timing of Application:
Most farmers apply Zinc in wheat crop at 2nd irrigation, but research has approved the application of Zinc in wheat is very effective at the time of 1st irrigation. The reason behind it is that wheat plant at the stage of 1st irrigation (25-30 days after sowing) is producing tillers. At tiller stage of wheat Zinc (Zn) enhance the tiller formation and ultimately increase the yield per acre.
In the above photo it is clear that the field treated with Zinc is more vigorous growth and the field with out Zinc showing retarded growth and greenery.
Dose / Acre
Zinc sulphate: 33% 6 kg / acre at 1st irrigation
Zinc Sulphate: 21% 8 kg / acre at 1st irrigation
Chelated Zinc : 5 % 2 kg / acre at 1st irrigation
